Good News, the Gospel

1 Co 15:1  I reveal then to you, brothers, the good news, which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,

1 Co 15:2  by which also you are saved, this word I preached to you if you retain it, else if not you believed in vain.

1 Co 15:3  For I delivered to you in first things, what also I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,

1 Co 15:4  and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day according to the scriptures,

1 Co 15:5  and that He was seen by Kephás [Peter] then the twelve;

1 Co 15:6  thereupon He was seen by more than five hundred brothers at once, from which the many remain until now, some then slept;

1 Co 15:7  thereupon He was seen by Jacob [James], then all the apostles;

1 Co 15:8  last then of all as though to one untimely born He was seen also by me.

Paul the Apostle

Salvation

From Our Sin, God’s Wrath, and His Just Judgment

Ro 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences and raised for our justification.

Ro 5:9 Much more then, justified now in His blood, shall we be saved through Him from the wrath.

By God’s Grace

Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin, death, but the gift of God, life eternal in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ep 2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith; and this not from you, this gift from God,

Ep 2:9 not from works, that no one may boast.

Ep 2:10 For we are His deeds, created in Christ Jesus over good works which God prepared, that in them we should walk.

Ro 8:1 So now, no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.

Through Our Faith

Jn 3:16 For thus God loved the world, that He gave the Son, the Onlybegotten, so that each one believing in Him would not perish, but have life eternal.

Ro 10:17 So the faith, from hearing, the hearing then through word of Christ.

Ro 1:16 For I shame not at the good news, for the power of God is for salvation for everyone believing, for Jew first and also Greek.

Ro 1:17 Justice indeed from God in it is revealed from faith to faith, just as written, “The just then by faith shall live.”

In Jesus Christ

Ac 4:12 “And there is not in any other this salvation, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

1 Ti 2:4 Who desires all men to be saved and to come into knowledge of the truth.

1 Ti 2:5 For there is one God,
and one Mediator of God and men,
the man Christ Jesus,

1 Ti 2:6 Which, giving Himself a ransom for all,
the testimony in His own times.

By Scripture’s Authority

2 Ti 3:16 All scripture, God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for education in justice,

2 Ti 3:17 that fit be the man of God, for every good work outfitted.

Is 55:11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding, for which I sent it.

For God’s Glory

2 Co 4:15 For all are for you, that grace, increasing gratitude through the numbers, may abound to the glory of God.

He 12:28 Therefore receiving a kingdom unshakable, let us have grace, through which we may serve God acceptably with awe and reverence;

A Call to Worship

Ro 12:1 I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, your reasonable worship,

Ro 12:2 and be not patterned to this age, rather be transformed by the renewal of the mind to prove what is the will of God, the good and pleasing and perfect.

He 10:24 and consider one another for stirring love and good works,

He 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of yourselves, as habit for some, but encouraging, and so much more as you see the day nearing.

In the Covenant of Baptism

Mt 28:18 And coming forth, Jesus spoke to them saying, “All authority was given to me in heaven and upon the earth.

Mt 28:19 Going therefore, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Mt 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age.”

Ac 2:38 Then Peter to them, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, over the Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

1 Pe 3:21 Which also you antitype now baptism saves, not of flesh putting off dirt but of good conscience, an appeal to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Commemorated in Communion

Lk 22:20 And the cup likewise after eating, saying, “This cup, the new covenant in my blood, which for you is poured out.”

Lk 22:19 And taking bread, giving thanks, He broke and gave to them saying, “This is my body which for you is given, this do in my remembrance.”
